Leather Dog Collars For Dog Training

Leather dog collars are often used for training and restraint because they are tough and durable. Leather dog collars can be designed with a break-away clasp to prevent accidental choking, while other types of collars are made with a choking mechanism to tighten around the dog’s neck when a certain amount of pressure is applied by the dog. The latter is used primarily for dog training. For training, one can also opt for shock collars, which are designed to deliver a small electric shock to the dog to train it to obey commands. Shock collars are not inhumane as most people think because they only deliver minute amounts of shock. Another type of leather dog collar is the force collar, which is a leather collar with metal prongs scattered on the inside of the collar, similar to a prong collar. Head halters are another kind of training collar for dogs that provide more control over the dog’s movement.
